Newborn Crawling Booties
This is a good stay-on sock with a smooth toe so your rapid crawler won’t get blisters on his toes.
Any washable sock yarn will work. It is better to choose a yarn with a soft, squishy profile and knit with a relatively snug gauge so there is no chance of stitches becoming like hard peas under the little one’s toes. If your tot is beginning to walk, do a very smooth graft of the sole seam.
To grade the pattern up, either use a slightly heavier yarn and size 2’s, or add 2 stitches to each side and to the tongue (plus 6 total) and add two rows before decreasing.
If you make a herd of these as a gift, consider including a zipper mesh laundry bag so the booties will travel through the wash without straying.
