♥ Hold your horses, this one is adorable

This knit newborn horse set comes with two ways to make the mane and tail. Make them from yarn (yes, yarn!) with my steps for creating your own fur look, or use faux fur fabric attached to the hat and pants.

For the faux fur option, I detail where to buy it, how to cut it and how to attach it. A fun project for anyone who just loves horses!

✨ What makes it work

• Two mane options. Yarn fur or faux fur fabric.
• Knit loop stitch. Make your own fur from yarn.
• Hat and pants. A full newborn horse look.
• Easy level. Straightforward knitting.

✂️ What you’ll need

• Yarn: With Love, Red Heart in Tan (main) · Super Saver, Red Heart in Baby Pink · Soft, Red Heart in Chocolate if making the mane from yarn
• Yardage: approx. 135 yds for the hat and pants, plus 70 yds for a yarn mane
• Needles: US 9 (5.5mm) straight needles · US 9 (5.5mm) DPNs or magic loop
• Tools: Yarn Needle · Stitch Marker · Stitch holder · Sewing thread and needle · Scissors · Tape Measure · Wire brush (a brand new dog brush works best) · Iron
• To finish like the sample: Faux fur in Alpaca Brown (for the faux fur option)
