In 2010, I designed this bearded beanie. My original design was for an adult beard beanie, and within hours of listing the first one, it sold out. For a few years after that, this design became the heart and soul of my business. I have made over 1000 bearded beanies since then ranging in all sizes from newborn to adult. I have tweaked this design over the years until I had it completely memorized and just the way I wanted it.

Now, I am finally able to put the entire design into words for all of you, and I am so excited. Many have asked for the pattern over the years, but given the amount of detail in the pattern, I knew it was going to be quite awhile of sitting at the computer to type it all out. That is exactly what I have done.

This pattern is 11 pages long. It is split into 3 main sections for The Hat, The Beard, and The Mustache. There is a short section at the end for finishing with a couple detailed photos for my suggestions on finishing.

Special stitches you need to know are Spike Half Double Crochet and Spike Double Crochet. Detailed written instructions are given for each of these stitches. These stitches are identical to a regular half double crochet and double crochet. They are just extended. Otherwise, you only need to be familiar with sc, hdc, dc, and slst.

I would consider this pattern to be advanced beginner.
