The Newstar Cardigan is a lacy-style cardigan worked with fingering/sport weight yarn using relatively large needles to create a light and airy texture. It is knitted top-down, starting from the back of the neck.

This cardigan works beautifully with all kinds of yarn—whether it’s mohair, cotton, linen, or plain wool. I used hand-dyed yarn for mine, and it turned out so pretty! Just pick out a lovely yarn you have at home and give it a try!

The XS & S / M / L & XL sizes differ in shoulder width. You can choose from three different shoulder shapes to best match your frame, and adjust the yarn or needle size—or modify the armhole depth—for a more custom fit. The zigzag lace detail under the arms and along the sleeves can also be added or omitted for a personalized look.

This pattern includes detailed instructions and full charts. It’s a good idea to read through the entire pattern before you start, to ensure a smooth knitting experience.

Wishing you a joyful knitting time with Saebyeol!
