Inspired by thoughts of twining vines in a twilit garden, this poncho uses trebles and chain stitch to form an open, undulating pattern. Treble block stitch adds interest at the short edges. Use moderate tension to get the most out of your yarn, and wet-block to open up the lacy pattern.

Short on yarn? Make a pretty scarf or wrap instead by working a long shoulder panel-width section until half your yarn remains, then attaching remaining yarn to beginning eyelet row and working the other long half.

Pattern includes charts; also included are instructions for widening or lengthening poncho, widening the neck opening, and other ideas for variations.
