Niitty is Finnish and it means meadow. Niitty is worked seamlessly and in the round from the top down. This basic sweater has special raglan sleeve set and diagonal details on sides of the body. Extra rows are added to back to shape the neckline. The sleeves and body are separated and worked top to bottom. There is a small decorative lace pattern in the front.

I chose for this model very special material. This yarn is made by a small spinnery in Southern-Finland, Ruukinkehräämö. They blend Alpaca it with Wild Silk collected from Kalahari Desert.

Yarn: Ruukinkehräämö 2 ply Alpaca + Wild Silk (100 g/ 270 m, 3,53 oz/ 295 yd).
You need: 2-2-3-3-4-4 skeins.
Or DK or Worsted weight yarn, preferably alpaca blends. Or combination of two yarns, for example mohair and cotton or mohair and wool.

Needles: 60 cm (24”) circular needle 4,5 mm (UK 7) (US 7) and double pointed needles 4,5 mm (UK 7) (US 7) or 40 cm (16”) circular needle for larger sizes.
For ribbing 60 cm (24”) circular needle 3,5 mm (UK 10) (US 4) and double pointed needles 3,5 mm (UK 10) (US 4).

Gauge: 18-19 sts and 24-25 rows = 10 x 10 cm
(4 x 4”) in stockinette st, on lager needles, after blocking.

Sizes: S-M-L-XL-XXL-XXXL.

90-97-103-110-117-124 cm
