Nimbus is a cloudy soft, oversized cowl made up of simple stitches and interesting construction. The cowl is knit sideways, from end to end, in simple knit one, purl one ribbing. Short rows give the bottom tier a bit more length so, when the cowl is worn, it remains snug around the neck, but flares out to cover the chest and shoulders as well – like an infinity scarf wrapped double, but in just one piece. When the knitting is done, the ends are joined and the edges are folded to the inside for a double-thick, cozy piece that you’ll want to keep around you as those storm clouds roll in.

Specific yarn requirements:
Cloudborn Superwash Merino Bulky (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 109 yds/ 100 m per 100g); 3 skeins in Grey Heather
Cloudborn Highland Fingering (100% Fine Highland Wool; 494 yds/ 452 m per 100g); 1 skein in Natural
Or, 325 yds/ 300 m each of a bulky weight yarn and a fingering weight yarn

Needles:
US 11 (8 mm) circular needle, at least 24”/ 60 cm long, or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge:
12 sts & 14 rows = 4”/ 10 cm in knit one, purl one ribbing with yarns held together
Meeting this exact gauge is not crucial, but any major differences will affect the size of the finished cowl as well as yarn requirements.
