If you love the squishy texture of Brioche, but intimidated by the technique, or just love the simplicity of knit and purl stitches, this pattern is for you. This set is knit in a simple 1x1 Rib pattern that seamlessly transitions into Fisherman’s Rib (or faux Brioche) stitch that is worked the same as 1x1 Rib, with a small modification. The tops of the hat and mittens are also shaped in 1x1 Rib, making it completely reversible. Light and airy Aran weight yarn creates a texture that is very soft and “cloud-like”, providing the inspiration for the name.

The hat is very versatile, and can be warn as a tam, or a beanie, depending on the styling choices. It is very lightweight and perfect for those who do not enjoy tight-fitting hats.

Level: beginner

Techniques: 1x1 Rib, Fishermen’s Rib, k2tog.
