I was asked to create a design with the Artyarns Merino Cloud Gradients set, and after several attempts, the result was the Nimbus Lace Cowl. The design is worked in repeats to use the entire set, or at least four colors, each being at least 160 yards. A garter ridge and lace section is worked, and “under-cowls“ are worked into the project for a three-dimensional, wearable accessory.

MATERIALS:
• One set of Artyarns Merino Cloud Gradients – Golds, OR four colors of fingering weight yarn, each at least 160 yards.
• US 3 24” circ needle.
• Stitch Marker
• Tapestry needle
• Scrap yarn

GAUGE AND MEASUREMENTS:
For sample shown after blocking:
Height: 10”
Circumference: 28”
Gauge: About 21 sts every 4”.

PATTERN/SAMPLE NOTES: While designing, I made an error and did not account for the blocking measurements, so you may notice the circumference in the sample is rather large. The original sample had 150 sts as the starting cast on. I lessened the size down to 120 sts in the pattern instructions. The pattern can be sized by adding or subtracting multiples of 15 sts.
