A simple, modern classic perfect for warm spring and summer days. Nina’s Ribbed Dress looks great all on its own, thrown over a swimming costume on beach days or under a denim shirt on those cooler days. Knit it in pure cotton for everyday wear or use a silk, linen or cashmere blend if you fancy an added touch of luxury. Whatever you go for, one thing is certain: it’s going to be a new favourite wardrobe staple!

Sizes available: 2-3, 4-5, 6, 8, 10 years.

Materials needed: 2 (3) 3 (4) 4 skeins of We Are Knitters The Cotton Wool or 4 (4) 5 (6) 7 skeins of Rowan Cotton Cashmere

The dress does not have any positive ease added so the bust circumference measurements given corresponds to the finished bust measurements. The 2x2 rib the dress is knit in, means that it will organically gain negative ease as the rib pattern contracts the fabric. Before blocking the dress will therefore look very narrow. After blocking the fit of the dress will remain very close to the body. The ages given are used as guidelines but as children grow at different rates, make sure to measure your child and use the measurement (rather than age) as a guide as to what size to knit.

The level of difficulty of this pattern is upper intermediate. You should be familiar with knitting short rows, both right and left leaning increases in purl and knit and with tubular cast -offs.
