Super easy and so quick to knit, this ribbed skirt is the perfect on the go summer project. Knit from the top down first in Stockinette Stitch to create the waistband and then in 2 x 2 rib, the length can be modified to suit the wearer’s preference. Wear it with chunky jumpers and tights in the winter or with a crisp white t-shirt and trainers in the summer and you have an all year round wardrobe staple.

The skirt does not have any positive ease added so the waist measurements given corresponds to the finished waistband measurements. Once you switch from stockinette stitch to 2x2 rib the skirt will organically gain negative ease as the rib pattern contracts the fabric. Before blocking the skirt will therefore look very narrow. Do not stretch the skirt widthwise when blocking so that after drying the fit of the skirt continues to remain very close to the body. The sizes given are used as guidelines, make sure to measure yourself and use the waist measurement (rather than the size) as a guide as to what size to knit. As with the width, the skirt lengths given should serve as a guideline, try the skirt on before binding off to ensure you have reached the required length.
