The subtle spiral and the shape of this motif remind me of ninja stars (also known as throwing stars): hence the name. When crocheted in the gorgeous silk yarn featured here, the motif is so pretty and feminine it creates an enchanting shawl. It is crocheted from the top down, adding more motifs to create the increases necessary for the growing triangular shape. The fringe is a special edging stitch that reminds me of chandelier earrings. This shawl would look so lovely dangling over bare shoulders at a formal event.
