The pattern has instructions for both cuff down and toe up socks and is written for magic loop, but can easily be modified for double pointed needles.

The short row heel has instructions for gusset increases if you need more room for the instep.

Yarn

100 g of fingering weight sock yarn, app. 420 m (440 yds) per 100g, in two colours, 100 g of MC and 10 (10, 15 g) of CC.

The sample socks were knitted with Chester Wool Company Karoo Sock in colourway Berry Porridge (MC), 400 m/ 437 yds per 100 g and Filcolana Arwetta Classic in colourway 36 Mustard (CC), 210 m/ 230 yds per 50 g.

Needles & notions

2.75 mm/ US 2 circular needle(80 cm/ 32 inches long or longer) or to meet the gauge
tapestry needle for weaving in ends
