Nisseua Cowl
The nupps in this design remind me of hazelnuts. Nisseua means hazelnut in Genoese dialect. The region where I live is famous for its exceptional hazelnuts. There are many hazelnut groves surrounding our villages in Liguria.
Yarn: Lanivendole A Pure And Simple Wool 100% wool; 300 meters (328 yards)/100g (3.53 oz): 1 skein; sample shown in Seasonal Portraits Autumn colorway; Or: approx. 245 m/ 268 yards of sport weight/ DK yarn;
Gauge: 20 sts and 32 rounds in Stockinette Stitch to 10 cm/ 4” on 4 mm/US6 needles, blocked; one Nupp and Lace Pattern repeat measures 5 cm/ 2” in width and 3.5 cm/ 1.4” in hight;
Needles: 4 mm/ US6 40 cm (16”) circular needles or needle size to obtain the gauge and/or set of 4 mm / US6 double-pointed needles or needle size to obtain the gauge;
Other: two stitch markers, crochet hook (optional), tapestry needle to weave in loose ends, two 2.5 cm buttons;
Measurements: approx. 28 cm/ 11” long, blocked and measured from bottom to top; circumference: approx. 50 cm/ 20”;
