Wear your hand-knit socks all year round, with these cute and frilly ankle socks, perfect for pairing with sneakers or loafers to dress up your bare legs.

These socks start with a folded picot hem, and are then worked in a decreasing lace pattern to create a ruffled detail. After the lace chart has been completed, a short row is worked to change the direction of the knitting, so the rest of the sock can be worked right side out. A 2x2 rib pattern is worked through the ankle to support the frill, then the rest of the sock is completed with a German Short Row heel and toe.

The Nita socks are best made in your favorite fingering weight/4ply sock yarn. They have been written to be worked using the magic loop technique and can be worked two at a time if you prefer.
