I liked the repeating nature of this 17th century embroidery motif, and thought I’d turn it into knitting colourwork. The repetitiveness of the pattern made for a relaxing, meditative knit. I named this cowl Niwian, which means to renew or restore in Old English.

Contrast Colour (CC) Sirdar Country Classic Worsted 200 m / 100 g (218 yds / 3.5 oz), 1 ball. Colour 0655 Dusky Rose. Any currently available Worsted (#4) yarn with similar yardage may be substituted.
