The pattern does not name a specific yarn brand. It calls for six 10g balls of 100% Angora yarn. Then that the yarn should be held double, and on US 10’s in stockinette stitch gauge should be 3 stitches to 1”.

The pattern calls for the hat to be knitted flat and seamed, but it would be simple to join in the round and work on circulars.
