This is my third shawl design using just a single skein of sock yarn.

No. 3 is a fun asymmetrical triangle shawl using back and front loop only stitches to create a lovely background for the pattern inserts.

The shawl can be made with any yarn and an appropriately sized hook. It is designed for those one-of-a-kind variegated skeins that fall into your stash but you have no idea what to do with.

The sample used approximately 99 g, 372 yds (331 m) of fingering weight yarn and a 3.5 mm hook.

The sample is 55 inches long along the top edge and 31 inches deep at the widest point (140 cm X 79 cm) after blocking.

No. 3 is crocheted in rows and worked from the tip across to the widest point.

US crochet terms are used throughout the pattern. The equivalent UK terms are referenced the table of abbreviations.

The pattern does not include charts.

I couldn’t have done it without you.

The lace pattern is adapted from a mypicot.com stitch design.
