The main color for this hat can be any that you choose. So far I’ve knit ones that are blue, pink and have rainbow stripes. This is a quick knit so you may choose to make more than one!

If you wish to knit the hat with worsted weight yarn from your stash, it will take approximately 120 yards of the main color (A) and 50 yards of the contrast color (B). Or use up odd bits to knit stripes! I worked 5 rounds of each color to make the rainbow version.

Please check your gauge. The gauge for this project is 5.5 stitches per inch. If the gauge is looser, the hat will be too large for many heads.

The hat can be sized by changing needles and/or yarn and therefore the gauge. For example, a hat knit with 116 stitches at a gauge of 5.25 stitches per inch will have a circumference of 22 inches. A hat knit with 116 stitches at a gauge of 5 stitches per inch will have a circumference of 23 inches. A hat knit with 116 stitches at a gauge of 6 stitches per inch will have a circumference of 19 1/3 inches. Mix it up!
