A sword wraps around this slouchy beanie, which was inspired by the deeds of Suffer-Not-Injustice Vimes and the rallying cry of the Wee Free Men in Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels.

The pattern calls for sport weight yarn in the following quantities:
130 m/ 142 yards in main colour
60 m/ 65 yards in contrast colour

The sample hat was knitted in Cheviot yarn from the Hebridean Woolshed (main colour, white) and Rauma Finullgarn (contrast colour, black).

The final picture shows a composite of how the motif would look if it were knitted flat.
