This baby blanket or lap blanket was inspired by the quilting pattern Grandmother’s Flower Garden. Hexagons are knitted in the round from the outside edge towards the center. There is no sewing involved because each new hexagon is added by picking up some of the edges from the existing blanket. Whether you want to be efficient or lazy, here is my method of knitting hexagons together.

Supplies:
Asylum Fibers DK (100g/245 yards per skein): Pea Soup (green), 2 skeins; Creamsicle (orange), 2 skeins; Pocketful of Sunshine (yellow); Razzmatazz (pink), 1 skein
Double pointed needles: US 5/3.75mm or size to get gauge (Optional: Circular needles in the same size)
3 stitch markers (5 if using circular needles)
1 removable marker
Yarn needle
Scissors

Gauge: Unblocked, 3”/76 mm along outer edge of hexagon; 5 ½”/14 cm across the center from point to point.

** EXTREMELY IMPORTANT **
Please knit a gauge swatch hexagon to make sure one hexagon uses less than 8 g of yarn. Otherwise, you may not have sufficient yarn to complete this blanket!

Finished Size: About 30” x 40”/ 76 cm x102 cm
