It is constructed from the top down. First, the back is worked back and forth with increases to shape the shoulders. Stitches are then picked up along the slanted edge where the increases were worked to form each shoulder and worked back and forth. Join the shoulder sections by casting on new stitches at the center front and finish working the front section. Now join the front and back sections and work the remainder of the body in the round.
Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armhole opening and the sleeves are worked in the round down to the cuffs. The body and sleeves are finished in ribbing. Finally, stitches are picked up and knitted in rib along the neck edge.
