You are invited to crochet a sun hat that suits an average woman’s head (approx. 56 cm / 22” head circumference).

This is a quick project that will be crocheted top down, mostly using a spiral method. 2 decoration options are also included in this pattern – a round strip and flowers.

The original green hat was crocheted with 1 skein of ARTland PORTO Skinny MACRAME yarn (250 g, 250 m, 80% recycled cotton & 20% other recycled fiber yarn) or Retwisst cotton macrame yarn and a 4 mm crochet hook. Since I found out that it is hard to find those yarns in stores, I crocheted it again with 2 skeins of Lily sugar n’ cream yarn – a 4 MEDIUM yarn category & a 3.75 mm crochet hook.
The instructions have been changed accordingly.

Materials
For the hat & the round strip - 2 skeins of Lily sugar n’ cream yarn – blue jeans color #01116. In each skein 70.9 g, 109 m / 120 yds, 100% cotton, (4 MEDIUM yarn category) & a 3.75 mm crochet hook or other size that will obtain the gauge.
A plastic marker / a piece of yarn in a different color than the one you will crochet your hat with.
For the flowers – 1 skein of fibra natura LUXOR yarn – cream color #105-02. In each skein 50 g, 125 m / 135 yds, 100% mercerized cotton, (3 LIGHT yarn category), & a 2.25 mm crochet hook.
Sewing threads in the hat color & a suitable needle to sew the flowers to the hat.
Scissors.

The hat suits an average woman’s head (approx. 56 cm / 22” head circumference).
Weight – approx.125 g (decorations are not included).
