An easy cowl for newer knitters, or for more experienced knitters who need a break, Nocchi is knit in the round from the bottom up, with one needle change to make the rib a little more firm at the top.

Sample measures approximately 12.5” tall with a 28” circumference, Both height and circumference are easily modified: just add or subtract sts/rows as desired!

Gauge swatch should be knit in the round on larger needles and blocked. Gauge is not crucial for the finished size, but may affect your yardage. Pattern is written to use nearly all of color A in the suggested yarn, so you may need an additional skein of color A if your gauge is off.

Materials: 24” circular needles (16” will also work) in US sizes 5 (3.75 mm) and 6 (4.0 mm), stitch marker, tapestry needle.

Yarn: Sample used 2 skeins of Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool, 1 each in colors Sand and Moss. Any colors will work, and any DK yarn that knits to this gauge can be substituted. This pattern is meant to be a little drapey, especially in the Stockinette section, so a fiber blend that contains some silk or linen would be preferable, but use whatever makes you happy! This could be a great opportunity to bust some of your stash, or put that luxury skein of yarn you’ve been hiding to good use!
