Nolie Star, named for the lovely Star Magnolia trees (that were currently in bloom as I worked on this), is a generous and drapey shawl. I’m always inspired by the nature and life around me and this shawl is no exception. As I was working on Nolie Star, it felt as it grew, the world around me began to wake up a little more each day with the new buds and blossoms I was spotting. This shawl has a really great floral-like stitch inspired by these blooms, separated by stockinette stitch sections.

This is a top-down triangle shaped shawl worked in two different colors of single ply fingering weight yarns. It features a very subtle spine, and ends with a garter border.

Construction: This shawl is worked flat from the top down, beginning with a garter tab cast-on. A triangle shape is created by working increases on either side of the shawl. After completing the main sections of the shawl, a border is worked across the bottom of the shawl. Finally, the shawl is bound off.
