This is a pattern for a Japanese stitched scarf. It combines cluster stitches with bobble stitches. The instructions for the bobble are made using the crochet hook method of creating the bobble, which insures that it will both show and appear on the front side of the work.

The turtleneck section insures that you’ll be warm regardless of the fact that the scarf is knit using sport weight yarn. However, you can just make the normal scarf and skip the turtleneck section -- just keep knitting the pattern to the desired length.

This pattern is charted only.

There are also directions for an optional crocheted edging should you want your scarf edged.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting, and lace).

The yarn used to make the sample pair is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock yarn in the colorway called Mint. The sample was expertly pattern tested by Deb LeBlanc who can be contacted at: artiesgirl85 @yahoo.com.
