This is an advanced beginner level PDF crochet pattern. The pattern includes detailed instructions and pictures for the techniques used. It explains how to read the flower graph for the colour work and also comes with detailed written instructions (for everyone that dislikes following graphs). It also comes with pictures and instructions on how to make the optional tassels. The pattern is written in English and in US terminology. It uses half double crochet stitches and single crochet stitches. Since the non-working yarn is always being carried, there are not as many ends to weave in as you might first think. The pattern also comes with a lookbook of my creative testers’ versions of the scarf.

The Nora flower scarf is a fun and whimsical piece. Depending on the yarn you choose, the scarf can be wide, narrow, light or bulky. As a rough guideline for the width, the scarf will be 9-13 cm (3.5-5”) wide with weight 1 yarn, 13-17 cm (5-6.5”) wide with weight 2 yarn, 17-20 cm (6.5-8”) wide with weight 3 yarn, and 20-23 cm (8-9”) wide with weight 4 yarn. The exact width will depend on the specific yarn used and your tension.

The materials needed are:
✿ any yarn in at least two colours of your choice ( I recommend using a yarn with some kind of wool content to ensure that the scarf will keep you warm in winter)
✿ a crochet hook that matches your yarn
✿ scissors
✿ tapestry needle
✿ 5 mm or bigger crochet hook if you want to add tassels

For my scarf I used: 3 mm crochet hook, super fine yarn (weight 1): Mini Alpakka by Sandnes Garn
(Approximate yardage for my 140 cm long scarf: Base colour: 75 g ~ 225 m, Flower colour: 45 g ~135 m,
Center colour: 5 g ~ 15 m)

When purchasing the pattern you will receive two PDFs: one PDF with the full pattern and one PDF with the graph only in case you want to print it.
