Nora Sweater Junior is a sweater with a Nordic-inspired colorwork yoke and a relaxed fit. The sweater is worked seamlessly in the round from the top down with raglan increases and German short rows at both the yoke and the lower back. This creates a slightly higher neckline and a longer back. The sleeves are worked in the round either on double-pointed needles or using the Magic Loop technique (I personally recommend the latter). The sample shown is knit in size 3–4 years using Trio by Navia in the colours Dark Brown (36) and White (31). Both the body and neckline can be easily adjusted in length if desired. Note: The colorwork charts are provided in a separate PDF file.
Size guide
The Nora Sweater Junior is designed to have approx. 14 cm 5.5 inches of positive ease compared to the child’s actual chest circumference. 1½ (2) 3–4 (5–6) 7–8 (9–10) 11–12 years corresponds to a chest circumference of approx. 50 (54) 56 (60) 64 (72) 78 cm 19¾ (21¼) 22 (23½) 25¼ (28¼) 30¾ in. Example: If the child’s chest measures 56 cm, size 3–4 years is recommended (finished chest circumference: 70 cm). Remember: These measurements only apply if the correct gauge is achieved.
