Nordic Caribou Cowl
Just in time for a last minute holiday gift or festive holiday outfit! (This is also a great little project for those new to colorwork, practicing carrying floats and working in the round).
The yarn I used was out of my stash, but any DK weight yarn will do. I chose soft natural yarns with a little bit of silk for added drape and softness next to the skin.
Materials
Yarn: DK Weight
Main Color: Manos Del Uruguay Silk Blend (70% Wool / 30% Silk – 150y per 50g skein): 1 skein in colorway Desert
Contrast Color: The Fiber Co. Acadia (60% Wool / 20% Alpaca / 20% Silk -145y per 50g skein): 1 skein in colorway Thunder Bay
Needles:
US5 (3.75mm) 16-20” circular needle
US6 (4mm) 16-20” circular needle
Other notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle.
Gauge:
24 stitches and 34 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette st after blocking.
Gauge is not crucial for this project. However, changes might result in a different yardage requirement.
