I was so lucky to collaborate with Luna Grey Fiber Arts to create a piece inspired by the beautiful waterfalls and mountain peaks of North Bend, WA. Brim lacework and a twisted rib body strike the perfect balance while small bobbles add an element of fun. Squishy sport weight yarn makes this hat a relaxing knit perfect for year-round wear.

Notes

● This hat is cast on at the brim. Decreases are made toward the top and the final stitches are cinched together with remaining yarn.
● I used the long-tail cast-on. If you desire a more seamless cast-on edge, I recommend the long tail tubular cast on or any derivative of a 1x1 ribbed cast-on.
● During bobble rows along the brim, be sure to keep your tension taut in the stitches immediately surrounding the bobble.
● Modify the slouchiness of the hat by knitting more or fewer rows of the main body.
● This pattern includes both charted and written instructions.
● Please read the chart key carefully. To maintain visual simplicity for the charted instructions, the “traditional” symbols for knit and purl are swapped.
