Northmoor Watchcaps
You can support Doctors Without Borders / Medecins Sans Frontieres by downloading this pattern through P/HOP (see link below) and donating to their cause.
This pattern has been one of my most popular ones - thank you all for loving it so much!! I wanted to share its good fortune so, as of Jan 20, 2015, this pattern is now also available through the p/hop (Pennies per Hour of Pleasure) site. Patterns through p/hop are free but knitters are asked to donate based on the hours of pleasure received by knitting the pattern. Funds raised go to Doctors Without Borders / Medecins Sans Frontieres.
Please follow this P/hop link to support their cause: http://www.p-hop.co.uk/index.php/patterns/hats/northmoor-watchcaps/
This basic hat in 2 x 2 rib is very stretchy so will fit a large range of sizes; it offers a choice of a plain ribbed or a double-sided cable fold-over brim. Having the cable ribbing double-sided gives the wearer the option of not folding the brim over and wearing this hat with a touch of ‘slouch’.
Yarn
Each hat requires: 255 yds / 234 m Aran-weight yarn; samples in Mission Falls 1824 Wool; 100% merino superwash wool; 85 yds / 78 m per 50g / 1.75 oz in colour 002
Needles
4 mm / US6 circular needle 16” / 40 cm and a set of 4 double pointed needles
Note: this hat can easily be knit using Traveling Loop, magic loop or 2 circs but separate instructions are not included.
Notions
Stitch marker; yarn needle (to weave in ends)
Method
Knit in the round, from the bottom up.
Online Resources
