A three quarter mile long railed promenade overlooks an uncrowded sandy beach and then the cold blue North Sea to the horizon. A few hardy souls brave the water, but it is mainly the domain of fellow dog walkers, holiday makers picnicking and building the occasional sand castle, and kite buggies at low tide.

The promenade rail runs along the top of the finished shawlette, comprising a twisted stitch and inbuilt i-cord edge. The body is a garter stitch sandy beach with an increasing number of cabled waves growing organically on an ebb tide, always being approximately half the total number of stitches. A central shadow wrap short row section turns the tide before the flood tide reverses the waves back to the promenade.

Width: 10.25”/26 cm at the centre; Top edge: 65”/163 cm

200 grammes of worsted weight yarn.
The sample used 2 skeins of Novita 7 Brothers (75% wool, 25% polyamide; 218 yards/200 m per 100g) in colour way Ice, using all but 3 grammes - there is an option to skip some rows if your gauge is causing anxiety. Alternatively you may wish to break into another skein.
