Norwegian Fjord Horse
A beautiful little toy horse for hugging, for dressing up, and for the imagination to fly! It fits inside a pocket or sleeps under a pillow at night. The pattern can be knitted and finished in a couple days in your spare time.** Three natural colors to use are black, white, and cream, but any colors of your choice are fantastic. Instructions are well presented with good writing and photos. It is about as easy as knitting a mitten, with short pieces of i-cord knitted in the mane and hooves. Magic Loop with a single 40” circular knitting needle and some double pointed knitting needle work to knit in the legs. The pattern is a sample of many knitting techniques that are simple to learn and which will be practiced for use in any other knitting endeavor. I think you will enjoy having this pattern and find it pleasant to repeat for a whole herd of horses of your own to keep or give as wonderful gifts. Norwegian Fjord Horses are small, steady draft horses with keen intelligence that are trained to help wheelchair bound children build confidence, strength, and balance through volunteer assisted riding skills. Proceeds from the pattern benefit the scholarship program for children with disabilities in the equine assisted therapy of Alatheia Riding Center.*
