This cardigan is designed to be knit flat. The body is knit as one piece back and forth on a circular needle. Knitters who prefer to steek should find it easy to adapt to circular knitting. It is described as an intermediate pattern.

Four sizes are offered ranging from 40 inches (101.5cm) to 52 inches (132cm). Schematics are provided with other important measurements. The colorwork is knit from separate colored charts for each motif.

Two color ways are suggested. You will need 5-7 two ounce balls of one color, 3-5 of a second, 2-3 of a third and 1 of an accent color.

Other materials needed:
Needles: size 6 & 7 circular 29 or 36 & 1 pair size 6 straight Crochet hook: size E
Stitch holders: 3 small, 1 very large
Buttons: 1/2 to 3/4 10

A leaflet was published for this pattern in 1993. It is not quite the same as the one in the book and an alternate color way is shown.
