Odd Row – Maker's Work
> Nostalgia Top

Nostalgia Top
A lace top with buttons in a garter stitch lace pattern, inspired by traditional bobbin lace patterns.
The top is knitted top down. Stitches are cast on for the back piece and short rows are worked on the shoulders according to chart. The back is worked until the bottom of the armhole.
Stitches are knitted up along the shoulders and the front pieces are worked separately, with short rows on the shoulders. The number of stitches is increased along the front edge by integrating increases in the lace pattern.
At the bottom of the armhole, the front pieces are joined with the back piece and the body is worked back and forth.
When the length of the back is reached, decreases are made along the front edge while working short rows, forming peaks after the last button.
Finally, buttons are sewn in along the front edge.
