These fingerless mittens are worked flat, sideways, in garter stitch. Although I generally prefer to work in the round, working flat enables you to make the mittens exactly your preferred width, which makes them feel very tailored to your hand when finished.

The thumb is shaped using a provisional cast on and short rows in the middle of the piece, and is later partially grafted with Kitchener stitch. Each mitt is also grafted together with Kitchener stitch along the long edge.

Left and right mitts are identical.

Size: Width can be adjusted individually wider and narrower hands.
Materials: Less than 50 grams (112 m) DK or worsted weight yarn.
Needles: US size 4, or size needed to obtain desired fabric weight.
