The Story
While having the product shots taken of this shawl, I fielded commentary from my husband and his friend (who coincidentally were quaffing beers) that the shawl was reminiscent of something one might find on an episode of Star Trek - perhaps a costume worn by an Alien. Having never watched the show I just smiled, nodded and kept on posing.

However, the name just kind of stuck - but I remain firm… it is NOT an Alien costume.

Materials

  • Ewe Ewe Yarns Ewe So Sporty; modelled: Color A: 35 yds; 1 skein (Color 90, Vanilla); Color B: 105 yds; 1 skein (Color 97, Brushed Silver); Color C: 200 yds; 2 skeins (Color 70, Aquamarine); Color D: 145 yds; 1 skein (Color 10, Berry)
  • US 6 (4.0mm) 40” circular needle (or preferred length)
  • Stitch markers

Notes

  • This shawl is knit in garter stitch, is constructed in a chevron shape and worked flat. Written instructions are provided for all sections.

  • Double increases at the beginning and end of each row create a gentle “V” at the neckline for easy wear as both a wrapped scarf or a shawl.

  • This shawl best fits a 40” circular needle however the user may substitute longer or shorter needles for comfort.

  • It is recommended to carry the colors up the side of the work to avoid over-use of yarn and ends to weave in.

  • Although gauge is not critical for this project, a looser gauge than noted will result in the use of more yardage.
