This pair of shawls design was created while I was pregnant with twins. I expected to have fraternal twins, because they run in my maternal line, but as it turns out we conceived “identical” sisters. My twin daughters are monozygotic. I know because they were monochorionic in the womb. Lucy, aka Baby A, was born first as she was closest to the “exit”. She’s also significantly smaller than her sister Claire, so it’s fitting that this smaller shawl should be named after her. Although they are genetically identical, they are not the same.

Both shawls are semi-circular shawls with similar design elements, but they employ different yarn weights and different shaping methods. Lucy is roughly based on Pi Shawl math while Claire is almost 3/4 of a circle with about 3 equal repeats - almost.

Pattern comes with written and charted instructions.
