A men’s sweater in checked texture stitch with ribbed wedge shoulders that continue into a high collar.

The sweater is worked top down. First, the two wedges are knitted separately and the stitches at the neck are put on hold. Stitches are then knitted up along one side of each wedge and stitches are cast on at the back of the neck.

The back is knitted in texture to the bottom of the armholes and the stitches are put on hold.

Stitches are knitted up for the left side of the front, along the left wedge, and increases are made at the neck. The stitches are put on hold while the right side of the front is worked in the same way. Stitches are cast on at the front of the neck and the front piece is joined and worked to the bottom of the armholes.

Front and back are joined to work in the round in texture pattern and finished with a rib at the bottom.

The held stitches from the wedges are placed on the needle and stitches are knitted up along the rest of the neck opening. The collar is worked in rib with short rows to raise the back of the neck.

Stitches are knitted up for the sleeves, which are worked in the round. The sleeves are shaped with decreases along the inside and finished with rib.
