This pattern features small motifs that are arranged to give a lacy texture. Once the main section is crocheted, a double crochet border helps the motifs “pop” against the background. The length of the cowl is easily changed.

The cowl can be worn in different ways, such as doubled up for a close fit around your neck, or hanging loose as an accent.

This pattern uses my breakaway crochet techniques which make it possible to work small motifs continuously and joined as you go. The secret for doing this is knowing how to make floating rings, so if you do not know how to make floating rings then please refer to the following instructional material before attempting this pattern.

For the basic techniques start by either downloading the free Training Wheels Primer eBook, or by watching this YouTube video.
