Back in January, I took a lace design class with Bristol Ivy. One of the techniques she taught us, was coded lace. I quickly became a woman obsessed. Naturally the patterns get manipulated and altered during the design process, so no secret messages can be decoded here. The two lace patterns in this cowl started from the words “November” and “third”. I designed this cowl to be worn as a reminder to vote in this year’s presidential election. I knit mine in red, white and blue, but you can choose to knit it in a single color, or in white and the color of your party of choice. Whatever color you choose, please get out and vote on November third.
