Numismatic is a coin purse or wallet worked in the round from the bottom up with a coin-shaped cable motif and a button closure.

Yarn: You will need approximately 50 yards of a worsted-weight wool that cables well for best results. (Pictured: Patons Classic Wool in Olive – worsted, 1 skein / 100g / 223 yards, 100% wool)

Supplies:

  • US size 5 double-pointed needles
  • US size 5 cable needle or other cabling method of your choice
  • One 7/8-inch button
  • stitch markers (optional)
  • needle and thread
  • tapestry needle

Finished Measurements: Finished purse will measure approximately 4.5” long and 3” high, just large enough to accommodate credit cards, driver’s license, et cetera.

Note: The cables are small enough to be worked without a cable needle.

This is the pattern for Week Thirty-Eight of Pattern a Week at Running Jack Knits.
