Nurse’s dress, apron, and cap
These patterns are designed to fit any of my Painted Cricket animals. The dress and apron start at the bottom and work up to the top. An i-cord is used for the apron straps.

Note that this pattern is for the dress, apron, and cap only. The animal patterns (such as the panda shown here) are separate.

You need to have…

  • Yarn in desired color and the same weight as that used for the animal you knit: (about 5 oz/150g total for DK or sport weight)
  • Straight knitting needles at least 2 sizes larger than those used to knit your animal. (I find the size recommended for the yarn being used often works well.)
  • Tapestry needle
  • 3 small buttons
  • DPNs for i-cord straps

You need to know (or learn)…

  • Stockinette stitch

  • Garter stitch

  • I-cord

  • Increase and decrease stitches

  • Mattress stitch for sewing seams
