The cozy Nuss hat/beanie is such a fun and also quick knit.
First of all “Nuss” means nut in the German language. This cutie is knitted in the round with two contrasting colors mostly in a pronounced rib stitch pattern.
The adorable tassel reminds us of acorns, doesn’t it? Yes, acorns are nuts and so there you go…. See also the semi matching Barrel cowl, knitted with the same yarn, they both make for lovely set wear or gift~

Chunks, a chunky cotton yarn which looks like its been wrapped.
50 yards a skein, 1 skein per color is needed.

Notions needed
US size 10.5 (6.5 mm) circular needle 16” (40 cm) in length.
Stitch marker.
Piece of card board or pom maker 5” in length.
Large tapestry needle.
Scissors to give the tassel a haircut.

Gauge
8 sts and 18 rows in 4” in 1x1 rib stitch pattern.

Techniques applied
Knitting in the round, knitting through the back loop, purling, color changes, decreasing, binding off, weaving in ends and creating a tassel to be attached, giving the tassel a haircut.
