Nuts & Bolts
This cowl starts with a provisional cast on over a purl string then has a faux cable design combined with ribbing and is knit mostly flat. A three-needle bindoff seams up the piece, then stitches are picked up around both edges and worked in the round to finish the piece. Video tutorials are linked in the pattern for the provisional cast on over a purl string or extra cord and for the three-needle bindoff.
Yarn:
1 (2) skein(s) Bodacious Bulky or 106 (212)y bulky wool
model colors: Nightshade (Cherry Merlot)
NOTE: the small size uses every last yard of the skein. I recommend purchasing a second skein to be safe. You can also add more rounds to the edge if you have a second skein.
Tools:
24” size 9 or other size needed to obtain gauge
spare size 9 (or size used to obtain gauge) circular needle in any length
two purl strings or extra interchangeable cords at least 24” long
Gauge:
14 sts=4” in stockinette stitch before blocking
Size:
small 9” x 21” around (adult 9” x 28” around)
