This aran-weight hat whips up in no time. Knit it for a last minute holiday gift or as a swatch for an aran sweater. The single cable adds a splash of style and the folded brim keeps ears toasty in frigid weather. Much of the hat is stockinette, meaning it works up quickly and also has plenty of room for measuring gauge (perfect for a swatch). The cable is also a great opportunity to practice cabling without a cable needle!

The pattern includes both charted and written instructions for the cable.
