This shawl is a good sized, single skein project, inspired by the shapes and textures created when the sea breaks on the shoreline. For this reason I like to make it in sock yarn with blues and turquoises but it works well in any colour. I recommend a 5mm hook as this gives good definition to each of the sections even after blocking. A 5.5mm hook can be used if you are working with 425m of yarn, but this results in a much more open and looser texture. Having tried both, I prefer the results I get with the 5mm hook. I need to get some better pictures, as this shawl really needs to be seen in action, but it is a nice quick make. I hope you enjoy it.
