This beanie is a great first cable technique project. The dried Ocotillo cactus texture looks complex, however the one over two cables are worked on only 3 rounds. The rest is nothing more than wide ribbing. It has a novel knit and purl sequence in the band that flows right into the pattern. In addition, if care is taken to split the plies when darning in the ends your beanie can be worn either side out.

Yarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Sport. One 50 gram skein will make two.
Needles: US size 4, 14” circular and double-pointed.
Gauge: 6 stitches/ 7 rows = 1” in stockinette
