I was asked to make a mama and me beanie set with matching cable designs back in October 2020. I came up with this particular design using braided cables and a decorative 2-stitch panel. I have made and shared it multiple times with my knitter friends. After almost 3 years, I am ready to take ownership of my work.

Adult beanie fits a head circumference of 21.5” (54.5cm).

Toddler beanie fits head circumference of 20” (50cm).

My stockinette gauge using worsted weight and 8US is 20-21sts x 28rows per 4”x4”. This is different from the gauge in cable pattern.

If you have too many stitches across 4”, use a larger needle size. If you have too little stitches, use a smaller needle size.

I used 1 skein of Lion’s Brand Wool Ese for the adult beanie.
