The October Socks were designed specifically for the amazing orange sock yarn from Lisas Attik which had no name!!

So I set about calling it October and designed this simple slip stitch sock to go with it. The pattern has a unique twist on the foot to keep the pattern central and blocked off from the base of the foot.

The pattern calls for at least 70g of any 4ply/fingering weight yarn (I used 68g for my size 39 feet so less if you have smaller feet), you can use a contrast or not - I made two samples one with contrasting heels and toes and the other without - and the pattern has instructions for both a heel flap and gusset AND a shadow wrap heel (again I used both for the two different samples).

The pattern uses a 2.25mm needle, is written for the magic loop method and is relatively simple for even a beginner sock knitter.

The pattern has been extensively tested but any errata will be noted here should they arise.

Errata: a very minor note to say that the pattern repeat should be repeated 20 times or to your preferred length instead of the 10 times noted in the first version of the pattern.
